| Red Wings Team Report (Yahoo! Sports) |
|
The Red Wings' top line of Pavel Datsyuk, Johan Franzen and Tomas Holmstrom has been dominant lately, and the team got an unexpected offensive boost from fourth-line center Darren Helm, who scored twice against Nashville last week. Now it's time for their second and third line supporting players to pick up the pace. They must deliver if this team has any chance of rising above a group of clubs battling for one of the final playoff spots in the Western Conference. The Wings will need more production from the likes of Todd Bertuzzi, Dan Cleary, Valtteri Filppula and Jason Williams. That's why Sunday's 5-4 win in Chicago was a good sign for Detroit. Filppula and Williams each scored a goal, and Bertuzzi provided two assists.
